Saturday, 6th November is a reserve day in the National Leagues, available for matches postponed in the first nine weeks of the season. A number of National Two (North) games have been called off through Covid-19 infections among players and coaches.

So Fylde’s 1st XV have a weekend off, a useful time for recovery of injuries to players such as Henry Hadfield, Harlan Corrie, Scott Jordan and Matt Ashcroft. Connor Wilkinson has had surgery for his ACL injury and his rehab will be a much longer affair.

The Hawks also have a blank weekend.

The Club’s attention turns to the NOWIRUL Cup competitions.

In the 2nd Round of the NOWIRUL Trophy the Saracens welcome Didsbury Toc H 2nds at the Woodlands. Whilst the Sarries compete in Division 2 (North), their opponents are in 8th place in the parallel Div 2 (South). KO is at 14.15.

The Vandals were due to face Oswestry 2nds in the 3rd Round of the NOWIRUL Bowl, also at the Woodlands. However, due to a crisis of player non-availability, the Shropshire club has pulled out of the tie. The Vandals go through to the 4th Round on the 5th of February.

The Sarries would appreciate a decent sized crowd to cheer them on – get to the Woodlands to enjoy competitive cup rugby!
