In all the praise that’s been justifiably lavished on the 1st XV, and the Stourbridge players, for serving up a mid-winter classic in the Woodlands rain and wind, there were another 30 or so unsung heroes at the Ground on Saturday.
In the same dreadful conditions, Fylde Saracens and Rochdale 2nds battled out a close and tough encounter on the top pitch. Sarries won by 17-5 in the NOWIRUL Division Two (North) match. This lifts them to 4th in the Division. Well done Sarries!
The Hawks and Vandals weren’t in action this weekend. The Vandals had no fixture but the Hawks were scheduled to play Macclesfield 2nds at the Woodlands. Unfortunately, the visitors lost a few players to a Covid outbreak in the squad so the fixture has been rescheduled for 19th March 2022.
