During yesterday’s Fylde v Sheffield Tigers game at the Woodlands, Greg Smith passed 1,000 points for the Club. He joined us in the 2016-17 season and now approaches the end of his 5th campaign.
Thanks to stats wonder David Wiseman (and for the graphic above!) for the details of his 131 appearances and his scoring record – 23 tries, 328 conversions & 79 penalties – a total of 1,008 points.
Greg’s best season was in 2018-19 when he totalled 258 points. Already on 232 points this season and with six games to go, assuming he remains fit (and is selected!) he’ll almost certainly notch the 27 points to beat his previous best total.
On top of this achievement, Greg is currently the leading points scorer in the top five English divisions to date. He has three or four players chasing him so good luck to him for the next seven weeks or so.
