We’ve mentioned some of our ‘comings’ ahead of the 2022-23 season so now we announce our ‘goings’.

The most significant of leavers is the very popular Henry Hadfield. He joined the Club in 2017-8 following National League experience with Tynedale and earned an immediate 1st XV place on the right wing. He had another good season in 2018-19 and, after a two year break, returned for an excellent campaign last season, scoring 10 tries in the process. In all, he’s racked up 74 appearances and 19 tries for the Club in these three seasons whilst also running up a lot of miles travelling to and from from his home in Cumbria.

Henry has never given less than 100% for a club that he holds with great affection. His move over the Pennines sees him sign for Darlington Mowden Park where he’ll link up with Sam Kyle-Clay who has also moved to the North East (see below).

Henry’s all action ‘full on’ approach on the pitch galvanised the spectators at the Woodlands and elsewhere. He’s quick as well as very physical in attack and defence. He was always a handful for every opposing team.

Everybody at Fylde, especially his coaches and team mates, sends their best wishes to Henry with his new club. Thanks for everything Henry!

Sam Kyle-Clay made his National League debut for his home town club last season. He made 27 appearances for Fylde before deciding to move to National One club Darlington Mowden Park ahead of the new season. Many thanks and good luck Sam!
