We are delighted to welcome another talented young Lancastrian to the Club’s playing squad for the imminent 2022-23 season. Flanker Henry Higginson is a product of the LRGS system, with three years 1st XV experience and captain in the School’s 2018/19 campaign. At one time he was a team mate of another new Fylde recruit, Sam Stott.
Henry earned representative honours with Lancashire U17s, U18s & U20s and was also part of the Sale Sharks U17/18s Academy
He attended Durham University (2019-22) achieving a BA in Economics & Management this summer. During his spell there he skippered the DURFC 2nd XV and also was part of the BUCS super rugby league squad and 7s winners with the Durham Uni RFC 1st XV in 2022.
After junior experience with Heysham Atoms ARLFC (from 2013) and Vale of Lune Juniors (from 2015), Henry progressed to both the Atoms (2018-) and VoL 1st teams (2019-2022).
“He’s a very good openside flanker who we are excited to see play and he’s a quality addition to a very strong back row.” (Warren Atkinson)
