As a new Rugby Season is upon us, we would like to give you an update on the Club’s success, both on and off the pitch, and progression it has achieved this season – which could not have happened without the support of our members, sponsors, committee, volunteers, customers and staff.
Fylde Rugby Club has seen tremendous growth in all departments of the venue this last year. The Club received footfall of over 50,000 across all the numerous events held at the venue this last year. Those of you who have visited on match days will have noticed the increased attendance, with hospitality sold out for almost every game, all together creating the most incredible game day atmosphere. This also contributed to boosting our social media presence, increasing our follows, engagement and impressions month on month reaching a digital audience of more than 13,000 people.
Our senior teams ended the 2022/2023 season with fantastic results:
1st Team – Placed 2nd In the National 2 League
2nd Team (The Hawks) – 5th in NOWIRUL Premier Division
3rd Team (The Saracens)– Champions of NOWIRUL Division 2 (North) and NOWIRUL Trophy Winners
4th Team (The Vandals) – NOWIRUL Bowl Semi-Finalists
Fylde Social Rugby – Saracens & Vandals
Our Mini/Junior Teams also bolster this success with strong Lancashire Cup performances and finishes across the U16-U12 age groups. Further reaching into surrounding counties, and even a few matches with the “Auld Enemy” across the Scottish border bringing successes.
All MJ age groups from U6-U16 have grown with circa 450 children enjoying, learning and progressing the great game on Sunday mornings and week nights. Hopefully a good few will don the adult shirt in years to come, keeping the tradition of internal development going at Fylde.
It was an extremely positive season both on and off the pitch. The Woodlands as a function venue has become a local popular facility for all types of events which contribute to the weekly footfall into our Club. We have worked hard over the last year to develop excellent business to business relationships, which helped us secure regular corporate events for local and national companies.
We also had our first Beer, Gin and Fizz festival in May – this was a huge success and was fantastic to see the Club so busy on a weekend out of the Rugby Season.
Fylde Rugby Club has fast become the centre of the Community once again, providing a fantastic hub for sports, events and socialising both during and out of the Rugby Season – creating a thriving and busy venue all year round.
