Some history
The two clubs last met in league action almost 25 years ago in National One in the 1998-9 season. The game at the Woodlands on 6th November 1998 featured the Leeds debut of the outstanding Australian cross-code international Wendell Sailor. He raced away for a fine try in a 6-26 victory by the visitors and followed this up with a hat trick of tries in the reverse fixture on 16th January at their then Headingly Stadium, an overwhelming 48-0 win.
