The Club’s attention this weekend centres on the Hawks. The Hawks management have named a strong squad for the short trip to Lightfoot Green to take on Preston Grasshoppers 2nds (ko 14.15). The Hawks are in 9th place in the NOWIRUL Premier Division and Hoppers 2nds are 6th. They teams met in September at the Woodlands and ‘Hoppers shaded the contest by 27-34.
Cam Railton, Matt Ashcroft, Alex Clayton, Freddie Reader, Ben Turner and Adam Lanigan have all played in the 1sts this season but have had limited game time of late.

Sadly, the Vandals scheduled NOWIRUL Division 3 (North) game v Orrell 2nds at the Woodlands is OFF as our Lancashire friends and rivals have conceded the match as they can’t raise a squad.
Fylde followers might reasonably ask ‘why have Fylde no National Two (North) league game on Saturday?’ At the beginning of the season Leeds Tykes asked Fylde if they would agree to moving their home game scheduled for 9th December to 21st October to accommodate other commitments at their ground tomorrow. It worked out OK for the Yorkshiremen as they beat Fylde in a hard fought contest by 30-17.
