Fylde’s Mini-Junior Section has many fine players and some great spirit and camaraderie. It’s great to celebrate the end of a long and successful season amongst all the players but also the coaches, team managers and parental helpers who support them.
However, we must draw attention to the U’13s team. Earlier in the season they won their section of the Lancashire RFU age group leagues with outstanding play, someway ahead of all their rivals.
To put the tin lid on it, they followed this up by winning the end of season Lancashire Rugby Cup held yesterday at Bolton Rugby Club.
As team manager Gary Melling said: “So double bubble champions of Lancashire at U13 level!! Now also 19 months unbeaten as well.”
NB In terms of the end of season tournament, league games were 50mins long, however the tournament games were only 20mins long thus lower scores but were as follows:
Fylde 30-5 Wigan
Fylde 15-5 Hoppers
Fylde 20-15 Bolton
