Lancashire open their Bill Beaumont County Championship 2024 season with the visit of Somerset to the Woodlands on Saturday, 18th May (ko 14.00).
We wondered if the two counties had met before at the Woodlands and doubted they had. But we were wrong! 92 years ago in 1932 they met at Fylde (Somerset won by 10-11) and again in 1937 (this time the Red Rose County came out on top by 13-3).
Lancashire have named an extended squad of 32 players and the final 22 for Saturday will be selected after training on Thursday evening.
