We are proud to announce that our Fylde v Hull Ionians match programme is now available at: https://bit.ly/3JFWCKm

It covers some really important stories about the Club as it faces its 106th season. Off and on the pitch action. New hospitality arrangements with ‘MasterChef’ in place and a new marketing and communications approach. Plenty of discussion about playing prospects from the coaches and introductions to some of the newcomers to the 1st XV squad.

There’s a major article by Chairman of Rugby Mark Nelson on the play-off system to be introduced at the end of the season. He’s argued many times before about the need for change in the promotion and relegation arrangements in the National Leagues. Does the system that’s been decided on fit the bill in his view?

An always vital part of the programme is the preview of the principal game of the day, Fylde v Hull Ionians. Fylde have the clear bragging rights but that will not breed complacency for the home team who face a very able Ionians squad strengthened considerably by recent player recruitment.

On the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day on 15th August, there was great pride for the Club in being asked to take part in a commemoration event by the Windmill on Lytham Green. At least 12 former players joined the ill fated Blackpool Regiment in 1939, suffered terribly in defending Singapore and a number paid the ultimate price in the subsequent defeat and surrender of the Alied Garison. A brief account is presented here.

Finally, the latest news of the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation’s initiatives are outlined.
