The Ben Trend Memorial Walk, Saturday 18 April 2026
Ben Trend was a fine local rugby player (a Blackpool RUFC and Fylde 1st teamer) and an outstanding, versatile sportsman who died at the age of 30 in a tragic accident in South Africa in 2010.
Ben’s family set up a charitable foundation in Ben’s honour, ‘BenTrend Getinvolved’, with the idea of providing funding each year to support individuals and/or organisations involved in sport in the Blackpool and Fylde area where Ben grew up, and also in the South West of London, where Ben lived for the last eight years of his life.
An annual part of the Foundation’s activities is a walk in Ben’s name.
So it’s time to dig those walking shoes out and start stretching off!
It will be the usual format:
Along the promenade from Blackpool RUFC to Fylde RUFC, the two clubs Ben loved to play for, tea/coffee and cake at the start and a bite to eat at the finish are provided free of charge.
You don’t have to do all the walk, you can join us en route if you wish (details below). £20.00p per adult, either pay on the day or go to:
