The traditional Old Boys game, Old Arnoldians v Old Lidunians, will be taking place as usual on Boxing Day, 26th December 2021, at the Woodlands Memorial Ground (ko 15.00), but for the first time under floodlights.

AKS Lytham has produced a splendid match programme (compiled by Sarah Shepherd) including the long history of the fixture (with Ed Mahon), interviews with former Director of PE Robbie Jones and long standing PE & Maths teacher (and Fylde RFC scrumhalf) Phil Rudd, and memories of the game by Graeme McIntyre, Anthony Hoskisson and James Dalby.

Fylde 1st XV regular and Old Arnoldian Matt Garrod is managing/coaching the OAs and says: “I’m really looking forward to Boxing Day. It’ll be a great day all round and I’m looking forward to taking on a different role in managing/coaching the OAs. We are five days out and we have 24 Old Arnoldians pulling on the jersey, 50% of which are ex-mini juniors of Fylde. We have an electric back line that will hopefully be exciting to watch with some expansive rugby.”

With excellent numbers dining pre-match in the Woodlands Suite and International Room, and the normal very healthy spectator numbers expected on the terraces, it promises to be a great, entertaining and social occasion. Everyone welcome!
