A belated shout out for the Fylde Hawks lads who put up a brave fight at league leaders Caldy before going down by 41-19. The home team is following the superb season of their 1st XV who lead National One and have a great chance of being promoted to the Championship.

The Caldy 2nd team have a 100% record with 14 wins out of 14. The only team to have taken them close to a defeat is the Hawks, at the Woodlands in November, when the score was 17-19.

On Saturday, a closely fought 1st half saw Caldy leading by just 14-7 at the break. In the 2nd period Caldy stretched away despite a brave and very encouraging display by the young Hawks squad.

The Hawks scorers were winger Joe Probert, hooker Sam Parker and no 8 Sam Hunter. Alex Clayton converted two of the tries.

The Hawks retain 3rd place in the NOWIRUL Premier division.
