“Turner turns on the style as Fylde topple Sheffield” ran the match report headline in Sunday’s The Rugby Paper.
The reporter, Frank Arthur, wrote generously about his Man of the Match: “Ben Turner scored a beautiful brace [of tries] …”
But it was his comment a little later that made us smile: “The second try for the away side came minutes later when gigantic lock Oliver Parkinson, on the charge like a mad giraffe, finished off from the back of a 13-man maul …”
So one of our most consistent and popular players has a new sobriquet … the Mad Giraffe!
