Saturday was an excellent one for the Club. Apart from the 1st XV winning at Sheffield Tigers, the Hawks took part in an exciting NOWIRUL Cup game against Leigh 2nds at the Woodlands. In a topsy-turvy match with the lead switching regularly, Leigh scored a late winning try to edge the game 29-34.
Also at the Woodlands, the Saracens continued their fantastic run of 18 straight wins in the NOWIRUL Trophy 2nd Round tie. Already being champions of Division Two (North), they overcame Manchester 2nds by 24-12. They have another home game in the quarter-final when Aldwinians 2nds visit the Woodlands on 15th April.
Last but not least, the Vandals put in a superb show by travelling to Lightfoot Green in the NOWIRUL Bowl to take on Preston Grasshoppers 4ths and came away with a 19-40 victory. They also face a quarter-final on 15th April, against Dukinfield 2nds at the Woodlands.
With the 1st XV playing their final home game of the season v Otley, Saturday 15th April is shaping up to be quite some day!
