We are delighted to welcome Ethan Hall-Lyon to our roster of additions to the 2023-24 1st XV playing squad. Ethan is a backrower with National League experience.
Ethan grew up in Liverpool and played his junior rugby at Southport RFC. He studied at Kirkham Grammar School and gained representative honours in Lancashire’s age grade teams.
He joined Newcastle University to study chemistry and played for the University 1st XV and at a club level was part of the Blaydon RFC National League squad. He made his debut in the 2021-22 season and built on this is the 2022-23 campaign when playing usually at no 8 or open side flanker, occasionally at lock.
Ethan successfully finished his MChem degree course this summer and is looking for opportunities in the field of organic chemistry.
Ethan Hall-Lyon said: ” I decided to join Fylde as they are a very strong setup and I am excited of the prospect of challenging myself playing rugby for a top end team. I admire their fast paced and expansive style of rugby.
“Alex Loney was the head coach of my Lancashire U18s team and he made me aware of the opportunity at the Woodlands. My college, Kirkham Grammar School, has strong connections with the club so that was also a factor in deciding to join Fylde. I’m excited to get involved in the 2023-2024 season.”
