I am delighted to be able to announce that the 7th annual event will take place on Friday 1st March at Fylde.
The format will be familiar to you by now, kicking off with welcome drinks in the International Room from 11.30.
We will enjoy a 3 course lunch and will get to meet and hear from former England and British & Irish Lions giant, Simon Shaw MBE.
Simon played for Bristol, London Wasps and Toulon, playing in the World Cup Final in 2007 and winning 71 caps for England in total between 1996 and 2011, and touring in 1997, 2005 and 2009 with The Lions.
Our host will be Pete Emmett, the hardest-working comic in the business, hosting all home matches at Everton FC and Liverpool as well as at St Helens and Warrington RL. Pete has worked with the biggest names in sport and is welcomed back to Fylde after having appeared here previously with Craig Chalmers at our second partnership event back in 2018.
Attendance is restricted to 180 guests and ladies are very welcome as always. The event sells out each year, a first come first served basis will apply, so please book quickly to reserve your tables.
The cost will be the same as last year at £800 for a table of 10.
We will hold a £20 raffle and an auction on the day, all the proceeds from which will go to the Wooden Spoon charity.
This is your opportunity to enjoy one of the most popular local events of the year and raise valuable funds to facilitate local projects supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people.
Please contact me at this email address (mark.cadley@handelsbanken.co.uk) to book your tables, also should you be interested in associating your business with this great charity through sponsorship of the event, big or small, then please contact me to discuss options. Likewise if you would like to donate an auction or raffle prize.
I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
All the very best!
Mark Cadley

Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby
Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. We are a grant-making charity and fund life-changing projects across the UK & Ireland.
We have a national footprint, but the largest part of our income is raised by local volunteers. Our aim is that every penny that our volunteers raise is spent in their local communities.
In the last year, despite the difficult conditions, we raised and distributed £1,000,700 in grants to support 107 charitable projects helping over 113,000 children and young people living with disabilities, disadvantaged or disenfranchised.
