In a move to strengthen the Club’s forwards roster even more, Fylde is delighted to announce that backrower Lewis Quinn has signed up for the 2024-25 National League campaign. Lewis was with Huddersfield RUFC last season and previously at Aldwinians RUFC.
Lewis, born and raised in Manchester, was a boarder at Rishworth School in West Yorkshire and was introduced to rugby in year 8. I followed in my Dad’s footsteps and joined Aldwinians from about 14 years old, played for their 1st XV until about 28 years old and helped them win the Lancashire Trophy.
Lewis said: “I’d say being called up to National league rugby made me really develop as a player. I joined from Huddersfield from four leagues below and the Club gave me a great opportunity to get plenty of game time under my belt at this level. It was a difficult first season but one of my most enjoyable, and I took the game a lot more seriously. I never thought I would play semi professional rugby and I am just very grateful for the opportunities I have had in the last year.”
Lewis (6’3″ & 118kg) works as an online personal trainer. He has his own gym in Manchester (Lquinn Training) so he’s very conscious of staying on top of his exercise and nutrition.
He’s happy playing in any position in the backrow.
Lewis said: “The Fylde coaches approached me at the end of the season. I’d scored three tries against Fylde when playing for Huddersfield and got man of the match in both games. My daughter is actually from Lytham and i have spent a lot of time there in the past.”
He added: “I turn 30 this year and I want to play as high a level as possible and as long as possible. I’m really excited to develop more as a player and get stuck into the season. I enjoy playing very direct rugby and there’s a few teams I’m looking forward to playing against this coming season in new colours. Fylde had a great community when we played at the Woodlands and it looked excellent to be apart of the Club.”
