We are very sad to report the death of former Fylde prop forward Steve Ellis. Steve was a locally born and bred sportsman, played for Blackpool RUFC before joining Fylde and went on to make 37 1st XV appearances in the period 2002-2006. He eventually moved back to the Blackpool club and in 2009 was an assistant coach under lead coach David Stephenson.
Fylde Head Coach in that period Stuart Connell said: “Very sad news. You could always rely on Steve to give 100% for the team. He was an honest player and made a real contribution during his playing career at Fylde, he will be missed by everyone who played with him.”
