It’s just 9 days away from the first pre-season game as the Club gears up for the opening of the 2025-26 season. On Saturday, 16th August, the opening game features Fylde Hawks who welcome Newcastle (Staffs) RUFC for probably their first ever visit to the Woodlands. Kick-off is 12.30.

This is followed in the afternoon by the Fylde 1st XV squad who take on our old friends from Lymm RUFC (ko 15.00) in what promises to be a very competitive clash. Lymm have drawn the short straw as they have been re-allocated from National Two (North) to National Two (West) and face the pleasure of frequent long distance trips to the West Country as well as to the Midlands.

A week later on the 23rd August the Fylde 1st XV squad travels to Blackburn RUFC‘s Ramsgreave Drive Ground. This has a proven a regular and useful pre-season outing for the two clubs in recent years.

On Saturday, 30th of August, the Fylde Vandals will give a very warm welcome to new opponents to the Woodlands when East Manchester RUFC (known as ‘the Rhinos’) make the trip from the Denton & Hyde area (ko 15.00). This is an important part of the Vandals’ preparations in their step up to the NOWIRUL Division Two (North) following their promotion last season.

The National League season begins a week later on the 6th September. Ahead of this, on Friday 5th September, we are very pleased to announce that the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment will be fielding a squad to face Fylde Hawks at the Woodlands under lights (ko 19.00).

The next day brings our old friends from Hull Ionians to the Woodlands for the big opening of the National League Two (North) season (ko 15.00). This should be an excellent, attractive game in the fashion of previous clashes between these clubs.
