We are very sad to announce the death of Life Member, Karen Mould.
In the 80’s and 90’s Karen was an enthusiastic member of the ladies committee matchday tea teams, cooking for the supporters, senior sides and events, including the annual Rugby 7’s tournament weekends, Under 21’s internationals and a touring Argentinian University side amongst many others. This culminated in Karen becoming the Ladies Committee Chair helping to organise rotas, various club social events, annual club day floats and fashion shows to name but a few.
Karen’s two sons, Dominic and Royston, played for the club in their respective mini junior and senior teams for many seasons and in 1996 Karen took on the role of team manager for the U17s, her level of support, organisation and attention meant she was fondly thought of by her players and coaches. All of Karen’s services to the club ultimately lead to her receiving a Honary Lady Vice Presidency.
Along with her Husband Christian, Karen was an ever present at the club on a Saturday night in both the old and new clubhouses until relatively recently.
Her daughter Jennina is an active member of the club and wife of our House Chairman, Ben James. We pass on our sincere condolences to Karen’s family and friends.
The funeral will be held on Friday 6th March 11:30am at Lytham Park Crematorium, followed by refreshments at the club upstairs in the Woodlands Suite.
