The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation was launched in March 2020. In short we believe that Rugby Union, as an active team sport with very meaningful Values which can be played by people of all ages and all shapes and sizes, has the potential to bring physical and mental benefits to all participants and also wider societal benefits. We are a standalone charity and all funds raised by the Foundation are ring fenced for use by the Foundation, consistent with our Vision.
Their Vison: To improve access to Rugby Union in Fylde, Blackpool and Wyre by offering community pathways for participation and appreciation of the sport, regardless of age, sex, religion or background built around rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Come to the Club on a Sunday morning and you will see over 500 boys and girls aged 5 to 18 playing with as much pride and passion as the 1st XV but perhaps with a different emphasis, where enjoyment is much more important than winning.
None of this success could be achieved without the hard work of the coaches and the support of the volunteers and parents. The aim of the section is to never turn away a child. This inclusiveness, which is at the centre of the Club’s principles has played its part in creating this success. New players, no matter how experienced, are therefore always welcome.
The Mini Junior section is a significant part of the club with its own committee made up of team representatives from each age group.
The camps are inclusive for all and are open for both boys and girls aged from 5-16 from all local area schools and clubs. Designed to improve self-confidence, eye to hand coordination and social skills in a sporting environment where participants can enjoy themselves with little or no previous rugby playing experience required.
