Fylde has benefitted from a close connection with Sale Sharks with some of their young Academy players joining the Club on a ‘dual registration’ basis. These include many who have gone on to progress to the very top of the elite game – Sam Bedlow, Curtis Langdon, Matt Postlethwaite, Bevan Rodd, Tom Roebuck, Joe Carpenter, Gus Warr, Sam Dugdale and numerous others.
The latest young talent to arrive is hooker Tom Davis who goes straight into the 1st XV at Hull Ionians today (Saturday, 5th Oct). Tom is a product of St Mary’s College in Crosby and Firwood Waterloo RFC. He is one of nine talented young players from the North West to join the Sale Sharks 2004/5 Senior Academy intake.
He progressed to the England Rugby U18s squad alongside Tye Raymont and Tom Burrow who both spent successful spells with Fylde last season. He was a member of the England U18s party to tour Georgia in the summer of 2024.
