The Fylde Senior Colts secured a 25-12 win against Sale FC on Sunday, 29th September, in a well-attended fixture for a Sunday afternoon game.

Fylde responded in the 26th minute when tighthead prop Vinnie Graham powered over the line from a tap-and-go penalty following three phases of forward pressure. Scrum half Jack Wilsdon converted to level the score at 7-7.
2 minutes later, a scrum in the middle of the pitch led to centre Finn Reynolds breaking the gain line and offloading to fullback Theo Craven, who made 20 metres before passing wide to left wing Alex Davies to score. The score moved to 12-7.
In the 34th minute, lock Leo Rathbone scored Fylde’s third try after a lineout outside Sale’s 22. Fly-half Toby Curran broke through the defence, offloading to Wilsdon, who found Rathbone in support to score. Fylde went into halftime with a 17-7 lead.
Wilsdon extended the lead early in the second half with a penalty in the 39th minute after Sale were penalized for holding on. This increased the score to 20-7.
Sale narrowed the gap in the 52nd minute with a try following another lineout and maul, scoring on the right-hand side. The conversion was missed, leaving the score at 20-12.
Fylde’s final try came in the 65th minute when outside centre Theo Craven, now playing on the left wing, crossed the line after five phases within Sale’s 5-metre. The final score was 25-12.
