Over the weekend, a gentleman was taken seriously ill while at The Woodlands & due to the prompt action of members of the public, club staff & the swift arrival of paramedics, we are pleased to say that he is now recovering well in hospital.

As a club, we would like to extend our sincere thanks & recognise all of those involved – their calm, swift & professional actions in very difficult circumstances were truly outstanding. Their composure under immense pressure embodies the very best of our club’s spirit.

The gentleman has asked us to pass on his personal thanks to everyone involved in looking after him, adding: “my deep gratitude also goes to the club for having a defibrillator on site.”

We are incredibly proud of the response, the community spirit shown & of course, our thoughts and very best wishes remain with the gentleman and his family as he continues his recovery.

Anthony Hoskisson, Club President

NB This incident does emphasise the important role that defibrillators can play in health emergencies.
