We are extremely sad to report the death of David Sadler. Dave, 59, unexpectedly passed away on the morning of Sunday 29th June.
He was partner to Kerry, father to Thomas & Emma, brother to Jill, son to Susan and the late Peter, brother-in-law to Karl and uncle to Harvey. As a family they have held strong ties with Fylde rugby club for many years. Dave played second row for various Fylde teams through the 90’s including the Vandals, Saracens and Wanderers.
Dave attended Warbreck High School followed by Manchester University before returning to the Fylde coast to work at GRE. Despite moving to London in the late 90’s he continued to be a frequent visitor to the club, keeping contact with old friends, attending fixtures and supporting re-union events.
Prior to joining Fylde RUFC Dave played American football for Fylde Falcons.
Dave was the heart and soul of his family and his many friendship groups. His big presence, personality and sense of fun leave an irreplaceable memory for all who had the pleasure to know him.
Everyone at Fylde sends their sincere commiserations to Dave’s family and friends.
A service will be held for all friends and family at 1:30 on Thursday 17th July at Fylde’s Woodlands clubhouse.
The family will then continue to Lytham Crematorium for a private ceremony before returning to the Clifton Arms Hotel for a reception where all are welcome.
