A fine, gutsy show by Fylde Snr Colts saw them edge out Sedgley Park Colts in the semi-final of the Joe McDonough U18 Trophy at Park Lane on Sunday by 24-31 points. They move on to face Liverpool St Helens Snr Colts in the Final at Heaton Moor RUFC on Sunday, 19th April.
Team Manager Ben Curran congratulated his team: “Top Shift today lads — well done. You built that in the first half and gave us a strong platform. Big credit to the forwards — that attacking base allowed the backs to play.”
Fylde’s tries were by Xavier Dineley, Sam Curran, Fintan Mills & Ethan Stafford. Dineley had a fine afternoon with the boot by converting all four and kicking a 78th minute penalty to close the game out.
The lads won this Trophy at the end of last season and go again in April to retain it.
